The position of Assistant Teacher is under the direct supervision of the School Coordinator. The Assistant Teacher works for the benefit of the students of AIT International School (AITIS) and collaborates closely with the Class Teacher. The role involves supporting the Class Teacher in the general supervision, organization, and management of the classroom.

Assistant Teachers are expected to interact with colleagues, students, administrators, and parents in a manner that reflects commitment to AITIS values, mission, and educational principles.

Working Hours
AITIS working hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Staff are expected to be present during school hours and leave during instructional time should be minimized unless absolutely necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Supervising small groups of students under the direction of the class and/or subject teacher
• Assisting with marking and corrections where answers are clearly defined
• Preparing teaching materials as requested by the Class Teacher
• Creating teaching aids and supporting classroom displays and bulletin boards
• Managing the class in the absence of the Class Teacher
• Assisting in maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment
• Ensuring supplies are replenished and materials/equipment are well maintained
• Supervising students during breaks and school activities as assigned
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Class Teacher or Subject Teacher, with approval from the School Coordinator.

Qualifications:

• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a valid Teaching Certificate
• At least 2 years of experience working with elementary students (preferred)
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Demonstrated flexibility and initiative
• Basic technology skills
