The Faculty of Climate Change and Sustainability (FCCS) is seeking a Research/Professional Staff who will handle the activities of RERIC which will include:  

  • The ICUE 2026 (International Conference on Sustainable Energy 2026: Achieving Energy Security and Climate Goals through Smart and Sustainable Solutions) as an Overall Conference Organizer to spearhead the final 8-month delivery phase of AIT’s flagship international conference. As the primary architect of the event’s operational success, the Research/Professional Staff will bridge the gap between cutting-edge academic research and seamless event execution.
  • The Research/Professional Staff will manage the activities for the regular publication of the International Energy Journal (IEJ) as an Associate Editor.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Overall Conference Oversight: Directing all logistics, from venue management at the AIT Conference Center, catering, coordination of technical and/or leisure field trips, to global hybrid streaming.
  2. Conference Management: Ensuring all milestones (call for papers, registration deadlines, speaker confirmations) are met.
  3. Conference Communication: Oversee the conference website, social media presence, and email communications.
  4. Conference Program Development: Coordinating with the Organizing Committee and Technical Program Committee to manage the peer-review process, final acceptance of papers for presentations, overall program/schedule development, and for final IEEE Xplore publication.
  5. Conference Financial Stewardship: Overseeing the comprehensive conference budget, sponsorship acquisitions, and registration fees. Ensuring a positive balance after the activity by tracking registration revenue against operational expenditures.
  6. Conference Delegate Experience: Ensuring a "concierge-level" experience for international and local conference delegates, keynote speakers, and industry partners; for both in-person and virtual delegates.
  7. Management of the International Energy Journal (IEJ): As the Associate Editor of the IEJ-overseeing the regular publication of the IEJ and the RERIC Proceedings (as applicable). Includes screening of papers, searching and assigning reviewers, facilitating the review process, formatting and final publication.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Master / Doctoral degree
  2. Experience: 1-2 years’ work experience. Proven track record in managing international academic/technical conferences (150+ delegates) will be an advantage.
  3. Communication skills: Fluency in English; knowledge of Thai is a significant advantage for local vendor negotiations.
  4. Technical savvy: Proficiency in conference management platforms (Microsoft CMT) and hybrid event technology. Knowledgeable in website development and maintenance (WordPress and Open Journal System).
  5. Crisis Management: Calm under pressure with a "problem-solver" mindset. Able to work to time constraints and able to meet tight deadlines.
  6. Cultural Intelligence: Ability to work effectively with diverse, international speakers and attendees.
  7. Attention to Detail: Meticulous with scheduling, branding, and protocol.
