The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is an international institute of higher learning based in Thailand. It is Asia’s pioneer institution established in 1959 to help meet the region’s growing needs for advanced learning in engineering, science and technology, management, research, outreach and capacity building. The School of Management was established in 1987 and has one of the top ranked MBA programs in Asia. It has a large body of adjunct faculty to support the School’s drive to progress excellence in teaching. There is also a small group of highly active research faculty. The School operates at the AIT main campus (Pathum Thani), in downtown Bangkok (Asoke) as well as in the AIT Vietnam Centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

AIT School of Management (http://www.som.ait.asia) invites applications for full-time Associate Professor or Professor specializing in Leadership and Organizational Behavior

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach a minimum of 9 credits per year (Research Track) or up to 15 credits per year (non research Track) in relevant area of specialization. This includes 6 credits of the core MBA ‘leadership’ course.
  • Supervise Master’s Students’ Research/ Project.
  • Supervise Doctoral Students’ Research/ Project/ Dissertations (Research Track).
  • Initiate Sponsored Project/ Research and publish regularly (Research Track).
  • Administer (Director of Programs) for one of the School of Management programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD/DBA degree: must be academically qualified from a highly-regarded university with specialization in leadership and/or organizational behavior (Research track).
  • Regular peer-reviewed publications. A proven ability in research and publication of scholarly work (Research Track).
  • Relevant experience in student supervision at graduate and postgraduate levels from an international university is a vital requirement as the person recruited to this position will be required to supervise 3+ students immediately upon starting.
  • Ability to teach graduate courses in leadership in English language

Desired Qualifications (For Professor of Practice)

  • Experience of teaching at a postgraduate or executive education level
  • 20+ years experience in a senior leadership (or similar) role.

Desired Additional Experience:

  • Carry out academic administration, outreach activities, and research, and provide consulting/training services.

  • The initial appointment is normally for two years and is renewable (apart from the Professor of Practice position that can be for a fixed period of two years).
