Qualification:

The Asian Institute of Technology is an international institute of higher learning offering graduate degrees on environment, engineering and management. Established in 1959, its objective is to help meet the region's growing needs for advanced postgraduate education, research and capacity building including in curriculum development in the region. The Research Associate will assist the development of a comprehensive curriculum on ecosystem-based adaptation (EBA) and contribute to the generation of knowledge products to advance the understanding and practice of EBA.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Collaborate with the project team to design and develop a curriculum on EBA graduation. Research and gather relevant materials, and resources to inform curriculum content.
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize existing knowledge on EBA. Work with subject matter experts to develop knowledge products such as reports, policy briefs, and articles. Organize and facilitate workshops, webinars, or seminars to disseminate knowledge and gather insights from stakeholders. Support the development of digital resources, multimedia presentations, and interactive tools to communicate key EBA concepts.
  • Collaborate with partners, universities, and experts in the field to gather input and ensure the relevance of curriculum content.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, including documentation of research findings, curriculum development milestones, and knowledge product outputs. Assist in the preparation of project documentation and deliverables as required.
  • Other relevant tasks as instructed by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • At least a Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Environmental studies, Natural resources management, Ecology and conservation, or Climate change adaptation.
  • Familiarity with concepts and methods related to ecosystem services, social-ecological systems, risk assessment, and resilience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in ecosystem-based adaptation and climate resilience.
  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design is an asset
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent English language proficiency in written and verbal communication skills, and excellent report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and platforms for knowledge product development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
