AIT Extension is actively recruiting a Program Officer under a fixed-term contract. Candidates having strong enthusiasm in working with AIT Extension are strongly encouraged to apply for this position.

AIT Extension – the employer

AIT Extension (http://www.extension.ait.ac.th) is the executive education and professional services division of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). Consistent with the mission of the institute, AIT Extension mandated to contribute towards the development of the region through continuing professional education, training, advisory and consultancy services. It works with professionals in national governments, state governments, overseas development agencies, multilateral agencies, development institutions, private sectors, investment banks, consultants and NGOs. Over the past three decades, AIT Extension has offered short courses and training to some 31,000 professionals from more than 70 countries around the world.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Senior/Program Specialist and Course Director in developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs.
  • Assist in designing training curricula and proposals for capacity building and consultancy  projects
  • Identify and liaise with resource persons
  • Plan and be responsible all logistics to support training activities and coordinate the day-to-day operation
  • Select sites for study visits, lead study visits and provide background information
  • Assist in facilitating learning process
  • Assist in the development of case studies and training materials as necessary
  • Prepare internal budget of training courses and monitor financial disbursements of training projects
  • Assist in conducting course evaluation
  • Prepare final reports and summary articles regarding training courses
  • Provide complete documentation of the course to the center library
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Senior/Program Specialist and Course Director.

Qualification:

  • At least Bachelors’ Degree preferably in Business or Civil Engineering from a reputed Institute with a minimum of four years of experience in construction projects or a Masters’ degree in Business or Civil Engineering with experience in civil engineering projects.
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to write project reports, training completion reports and project proposals with minimum guidance.
  • Ability to work as a team member with participants with diverse international backgrounds and willingness to learn from others and teach others.
  • Ability to use standard application software related to civil engineering and internet applications.
  • It is desired that the candidate should have experience in working in educational Institutes.
  • Highly motivated to work in challenging environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsive to culture and religious differences.
