Qualification:
Department: Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management (AARM)
  Food, Agriculture and Bioresources Department (FAB)
Scope: To manage the AARM laboratory

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for managing AARM laboratory and field research in coordination with the FPU Manager and faculty
  2. Procure necessary materials, equipment and instruments for teaching and research.
  3. Upkeep and maintenance of various equipment and facilities in the AARM laboratory.
  4. Render soil, water, nutrition and feed sample analysis and testing services to support all research and on- and off-campus request for laboratory services.
  5. Supervise, monitor, assist, and assure data quality of AARM students and staff in their Lab/ field research work.
  6. Maintain cleanliness, orderliness and safety of AARM laboratory facilities.
  7. Maintain and monitor financial information of AARM laboratory facilities.
  8. Assist in organizing and conducting training courses, study tours, and sponsored research projects for AARM and FAB Department at large
  9. Promptly document and report any incident or other matter that requires urgent attention related to the maintenance of AARM Laboratory to the HoD/FAB and AARM faculty with a recommendation for action.
  10. Perform related task as assigned by the Head, FAB Dept. and course instructors.
  11. Submit a quarterly report of work accomplishment to the Head, FAB Dept.

Required Qualifications:

  1. A Master or Ph.D. Degree in the field of Bio-science/aquaculture or related discipline
  2. Desirable:  At least 2-year experience in the relevant field
  3. Good knowledge and skills in both laboratory and field work, and laboratory equipment usage
  4. Ability and good attitude in working with others and in teams
  5. Creative, service- and problem-solving minded
  6. Good communication skills in English
  7. Good knowledge and skills in computer including Microsoft office basic statistical tools, etc.
