Role:

Under the direction of the Dean, SET, the Administrative staff will undertake a range of duties associated with the promotion and marketing of the school & recruitment of students. The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of the School’s marketing and student recruitment strategy. The position also include responsibility for provision of advice and support from Heads/Chairs/Coordinators/Admin. Staff that are also involved in student recruitment activities; assisting with the organization of visits/visitors in relation to the recruitment of students; new initiatives; and contribute to the design, text of promotional materials and advertising. Will provide advice and guidance on undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment issues to staff across the school, including portfolio development using market intelligence. Will manage the gathering and use of data to inform school strategy and contribute to decision-making concerning the school’s recruitment plan and reputation. Will promote and raise awareness with the key internal and external interest groups by organizing on and off-campus recruitment events and representing the School.

External: Schools, colleges, current and prospective students, advertising, design and PR agencies, alumni, agents, industries.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment:

  • Undertake all aspects of the promotion process for the school including responding to enquiries, appropriate follow-up action if necessary, coordinate with other staff of the institute and external organizations and agents as part of the process.
  • Enhance existing/develop new relationships with schools and colleges and other national organizations/industries where appropriate applicants are to be found. Coordinate new/revisions of MoU and MoA.
  • Facilitates and coordinate the organization of on and off-campus recruitment events for the school by liaising with departmental staff and relevant colleagues in the Service offices.
  • Act as the School representative/lead for institute-wide recruitment events, such as the Visit Days, by liaising with Admissions and relevant colleagues in the Country/External Relations Offices & Media and Communications Office.
  • Present the School if needed at appropriate on and off-campus events, and to visitors and applicants.
  • Contribute/Develop the school’s marketing information, new strategies on student recruitment, and produce reports for the Dean/Associate Dean/Heads to inform the development to target new recruitment potentials.
  • Provide assistance to departments’ Admissions and Recruitment team.

Marketing:

  • Take a lead role with the Dean’s guidance in developing and implementing the school’s marketing and student recruitment, strategy to support the strategic objectives with emphasis on developing the use of web, emarketing and new media aligned with the institute’s marketing and web strategies. This will involve working with the Dean, Associate Deans, Heads of Department, Media Office and other relevant colleagues.
  • Systematically gather market and competitor intelligence and conduct market research, disseminating findings across the department/program.
  • Develop proposal/business plan for promotion and marketing funding and initiate workshops/training & new initiatives as part of marketing for school.
  • Develop a network of relevant marketing contacts within and outside the institute and use this network to inform the development of school activity.
  • Manage the development and market analysis/testing of departmental and promotional material for publication via print, web, new media by liaising with departmental staff, and co-ordinate the submission of the school’s annual reports.

Other Duties:

  • To coordinate arrangement of yearly English exam if necessary with agents/partners.
  • To co-ordinate the submission of the school’s annual reports.
  • To liaise with the departments relating to other externally related activities.
    • To work with colleagues in the Department & Service Offices to provide an effective, efficient and friendly support service to the wider community, including suggesting ways in which this service might be enhanced or improved.
    • Assist in the development of school business plan, faculty meeting minutes and other responsibilities as required by the Dean, SET Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Arts or Business Administration major in Communications/Marketing/other related fields.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of responsible work experiences in schools, public agencies, or private businesses.
  • Proficient in Word, Publisher, Power Point, Excel, Social Media, photo and video editing and creative web design.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills, excellent writing skills, and good decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrate evidence of time management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, ability to work independently, in a team and with diverse groups of people. Cooperative, approachable, reliable, effective and efficient.
