Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology

The center of Excellence in Nanotechnology (COEN) is looking for an Administrative Officer that is able to support traditional office functions but has the capacity to perform beyond the borders of the office.  Since the activity of COEN with the Thai community has increased significantly over the past year, we require a person that is fluent in reading, writing and speaking Thai.  The administrative assistant will be asked to travel to several Thai universities for recruiting functions that support the efforts of the director of COEN. Since COEN is expanding its outreach to Thai industries as well, assistance with Thai language is required in order to conduct efficient correspondence. The candidate must have at least a bachelor’s degree.  English language fluency is also required.

Requirements:

  1. COEN website update and maintenance
  2. Administration of office duties (calendar, travel, filing, memos, messaging etc.)
  3. Budget management
  4. Admissions coordination and management
  5. Execution of purchasing, invoice process
  6. Development of office procedures manual
  7. Support of COEN faculty with student evaluations, administrative tasks
  8. Oversee of office clerks, student assistants
  9. Oversee of COEN Nanotechnology Resource Center
  10. Translation and communication services
  11. Development of electronic office
  12. Support of COEN functions

Required Qualification:

  1. Bachelor’s level degree (in English language or business preferred)
  2. Proficiency in the English language
  3. Organizational ability (for workshops, meetings, COEN functions, etc.)
  4. Efficiency in communications with students and faculty
  5. Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  6. Web maintenance skills
  7. Budget understanding, balancing
  8. Familiarity with AIT administrative culture and P&Ps
  9. Professional and polite attitude
  10. Show energy and ambition for advancement
