Program Assistant, Asian Greenhouse Gas Management Center (AGMC) –Pathumthani, Thailand

About the Asian Greenhouse Gas Management Center (AGMC):

The Asian Greenhouse Gas Management Center (AGMC) is an “open platform” for coordinating and delivering state-of-the-art trainings, needs assessments, and innovative solutions for greenhouse gas (GHG) management in Asia to ultimately promote and enable the implementation of Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDS) across the region.

The AGMC was founded in September 2012 at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Low Emissions Asian Development (LEAD) program, implemented by ICF International (www.icfi.com). The AGMC is housed under AIT Extension in Thailand with training delivery at AIT in the Bangkok area (Pathumthani), at AIT satellite campuses, and other facilities. Trainings are also offered online via facilities such as the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute (GHGMI)'s virtual e-learning campus.

To date, the AGMC has delivered trainings to build the technical skills necessary to implement private and public sector green growth programs through a combination of traditional face-to-face and e-learning classroom hours—balancing accessibility with rigorous technical learning objectives. Trainings delivered include those on energy modeling tools, carbon registries, the latest United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate change (IPCC) guidelines for national GHG inventories, building institutional capacity for developing national GHG inventories, and more.

Job Description:

  • Provide administrative assistance to the AGMC Director, including report formatting, presentation design, meeting scheduling, and travel arrangement

  • Assist in the preparation of proposals for Donor agencies and other potential funders
  • Assist in identifying resource generation opportunities driven by appropriate collaborative project activities.
  • Perform other activities under the direction of the Senior Program Officer.
